This was a HUGE year for me! The biggest change here was rebranding from “I’m Topsy Turvy” to “Ashlee Marie”. Thanks for sticking with me and I hope you guys love the redesign as much as I do! Also? After 5 1/2 years of living with my inlaws we bought and moved into our own home! It’s a fixer upper so expect a lot of remodeling posts next year. ALSO? the big plan for 2015 is lots and lots of videos! I hope you’ll follow my new YouTube channels to keep up with everything!
These are the top 10 posts from posts created in 2014, not the top 10 from all 7 years of posts. I would LOVE to hear if you had a favorite post this year, weather it’s on this list or not.
#1 – Frozen Party, PRINTABLES, cakes, decor and food. In reality the whole top 10 is posts from this party. BUT instead of basically having a round up of Frozen posts I’m listing them as ONE. Elsa Cake, Snow Globe rings, Snow covered water bottles, Fake Snow and of course the Olaf Caramel Pears top the list!
#2 “Cake” pops are still huge I guess cause the second post is only a month old! The Thanksgiving Oreo Cookie Ball’s! These 5 themed balls were SO much fun to make, and doing it as a party was SO fun! I love having people over for crafting in the kitchen together! Anyone want to come over for some Valentines pops?
#3 Probably my favorite post of the year, my Edible Sequin’s tutorial! I love this Sequin cake (and the gumpaste flowers on it) so I’m THRILLED that you guys all loved it too!
#4 These Maple Bacon Cupcakes are seriously amazing. Just one recipe from my Maple Bacon addiction this year, but the one I made the MOST! This is part of my Disney Food series…. that I need to finish and will continue in 2015.
#5 This post was actually just in information post, not teaching anything, but it was crazy popular! Sharing my online Cake Decorating classes over at atly. The buttercream class I teach locally at Orson Gygi’s is the most popular I teach so creating an online version of the class just made sense (split into to video courses)!
#6 My AMAZING dense and creamy cheesecake recipe! I think my favorite thing about this post is my reference to Friends at the beginning of the post! Okay the pictures make me drool too… I share not only the recipe but also all my tips and tricks for making the perfect Cheesecake!
#7 A family favorite, stuffed crust pizza! We LOVE making homemade pizza’s, it’s super easy to add a stuffed crust to ANY pizza! Delicious and a huge hit with the kiddo’s.
#8 Lemon Scones! These were almost as popular as my easy chocolate chip scones from last year! This recipe is also a part of my Disney food series, based on the lemon scones from a pop up at the Epcot Garden Festival pop up restarants. I went back every day I was at Disney World to get more, and them make my entire kitchen smell DIVINE! I ‘m craving more right now.
#9 I’ve been making these Chocolate Oatmeal Bars since I was in High School! I could eat the entire pan myself (and I have.. Shhh…) It’s no surprise they were a hit, I’ve never had anyone not love them! (and since they have so much oatmeal in them they count as “breakfast” right???)
#10 This Sleeping Beauty cake tutorial was from one of my favorite parties of the year (the Disney Princess Spa party). All the Princess cakes I’ve done over the years have been super fun and popular! And since this is from my favorite Disney movie it was extra special for me.
And just for fun here are my 5 Personal Favorites from 2014 – This year I kind of went to my roots and shared some of my oldest and most loved recipes. I wanted to share some of them with you!
#1 Breaded Chicken – My mom has been making this for me for my birthday dinner as long as I can remember. It’s probably my favorite meal EVER!
#2 Spinach artichoke dip – I always loved this appetizers when we ate out and when we lived in Japan I missed it… So I started making my own! My kids love it as much as I do!
#3 French Toast – as “breakfast for dinner” lovers we pretty much love all breakfast foods, but THIS recipe is seriously SO easy and SO good, we probably have it once a week!
#4 One hour Parmesean Breadsticks – I am not even allowed into my friends Heathers house without bringing a batch of these parmesean breadsticks (with alfredo sauce for dipping). I make a double batch once a week and they never last more than a few hours.
#5 Coconut Bread – This recipe married into the family, my sisters in-laws have been making it for years, and it’s DIVINE! (oh and I added 4 coconut recipes this year! It’s one of my favorite flavors)
This year the OVERALL top 10 posts (top 20 honestly) were once again my free crochet and knit patterns! I did add a new knit and new crochet pattern this year but the top ones were all from 2011 and 2012! Two of them have gone CRAZY huge this year, You guys love the beards! The Santa double loop beard rocked the holiday season and the bobble beard pattern went viral over the summer and even knocked off the top posts from the last 3 years, my wrap around infant and baby boots!
I have to say these end of the year posts are some of my favorites! It’s so fun to see what you guys loved vs what I thought you would love. See 2013 and 2012 and 2011 to see what’s been popular in the past.
Kara
I don’t know how I missed that cheesecake recipe, but it’s pinned now! And I’m totally up for making Valentine cake pops! 🙂
