It’s been a crazy year, but wonderful! Since the baby has hit that “into everything” stage I haven’t crafted much this year. BUT I’ve spent a lot of time in the kitchen! More cakes this year than any other. And I’ve gotten back into food photography and recipes. It’s been a ton of fun!
So here are my top 10 posts from THIS year. It’s so much fun looking through the analytic and seeing what the favorite, most viewed posts were. The top 29 posts were all from previous years, and almost all of them were my free crochet and knitting patterns. The crazy thing is I didn’t do a single crochet or knit all year! Guess it’s time to break out the needles and hooks again!
#1 – My Merida Cake Tutorial – I had so much fun making this cake for my sweet niece! This year she wants both Frozen Princesses!
#2 – Chicken and Sausage Gumbo Recipe – This recipe is one I’ve been making for year, and make at least once a month! It’s The Readers favorite meal ever.
#3 – Cream Cheese Pumpkin Pie Recipe – is actually just a month old! I’m so glad you guys liked it. It’s amazing, a mix between cheesecake and pumpkin pie, great flavor and texture! Made with my easy pie crust.
#4 – Lemon Baked Salmon Recipe – One of three salmon recipes on the site. It’s our favorite fish and this is an easy recipe I’ve enjoyed for year.
#5 – Traditional Liege Waffle Recipe – Prob my favorite recipe of the year! My Dad challenged me to come up with a liege waffle recipe, because he loves them. I tried quite a few before perfecting this! It because our new Christmas morning breakfast.
#6 – Angry Birds birthday party – Throwing this party for Lego boy was SO much fun! The games, the food, everything was just perfection!
#7 – Creamy, Warm Pumpkin Drink Recipe – This warm drink is AMAZING, seriously amazing. Perfect for Fall, and so delicous! Great for a small party, or coming in from the cold!
#8 – Chicken Penne Pasta Recipe – This is another family favorite. In fact we just had it last week. It’s one of the few recipes that all 7 family members love! I make a double batch now and there are never leftovers!
#9 – Crepe Bar Birthday Party – This surprise birthday party for my mom was a HUGE success, and a delicious one. Super easy and incredibly impressive!
#10 – Avengers Birthday Cake Tutorial – A cake for my cousin’s little boy, it’s always fun to make cakes for family, esp family that gives me challenges and lets me run with crazy ideas. This Avengers cake was so much fun to design and make!

I can definitely believe that the Merida cake is the top post of the year. You did an awesome job on her; she looks just like in the movie! I guess it helps that Brave is my favorite animated movie! Well… apart from Lion King, yeah I know it’s a relatively old movie but I LOVE it. Any way, back to Brave I probably love it so much because I love all things Celtic, all things with legend (legend or history and I love it :)), and… all things in that movie basically :D.
I can’t wait for more crochet or knitting patterns! As you can see from my email, I am, for want of a better word, obsessed with all crafts particularly with crocheting.
Thanks for all of those recipes to! I want a cup of pumpkin drink right now! With some pasta please:)
Ashlee
I love to crochet, but only when inspired and I just didn’t come up with anything this year I was inspired enough to complete. So fingers crossed that this year I’m inspired! I’ve missed it.
