I have been cake decorating for over 8 years now, and I LOVE it! One of my favorite things to do teach. It’s one of the reasons I started a blog, I love doing cake tutorials and inspiring you guys to make your own cakes at home. I love making cakes for clients, of course, but what really makes me giddy is when someone sends me a picture of a cake they made for their child!
I love teaching cake decorating, so if your local to SLC come by Orson Gygi’s, I teach every month and I LOVE it! BUT since not all of you are local (in fact almost none of you, only .5% of my readers are in SLC) I wanted to be able to teach MORE of you. When atly approached me about making online video classes I was SO excited!
I now have two classes ready and available with a few more in the works! any requests? what would you like to learn?
My first class is Basic Buttercream, and it’s FREE! I share my favorite tools, tips and tricks for baking your cake. Then go over trimming, filling and frosting your cake. I also go over how to stack and tier your cake! It’s great basics and I hope you all love it.
My second class is Modern Buttercream, and its $29. In this class I share my ULTRA secret buttercream recipe that I have been working on for years! I’ve been saving it for my first cookbook, but I decided to use it as part of this class! It’s an amazing recipe, a mix between classic buttercream and swiss meringue.
I also teach basic piping skills, pressure and speed, and the proper way to squeeze. Then I teach all the buttercream frosting techniques I use in my business, usually for my smash cakes. The crescent, and how I use ombre frosting. Then the rosette and shell. And finally we end with the ruffles, horizontal and vertical. Ruffles are the most complicated but with practice anyone can get them and they are oh so pretty!
Anyway I am hoping you all love learning as much as I love teaching, I am so excited for this new opportunity and I hope to make many many more videos!Do NOT miss a single post.
