We love love love LOVE (see that was four instead of my usual three, so you know I really love it) DISNEY around here and we are so excited for the new movie FROZEN to come out this week! We’ll actually be in Oregon visiting my sister and HER 5 kids for Thanksgiving so we’re avoiding Black Friday and looking for something fun to do.
It’s going to be a mad house, 10 kids, 4 adults in one house. So to say thank you I thought we’d take everyone to the FROZEN movie on Friday! The kids and I went to Walmart and bought a bunch of fun toys and books to enjoy on the LONG drive and share with our cousins to get everyone excited about our big plans.
And you guys know me, if it’s something to get excited about, there has to be some kind of food! The kids helped me come up with fun treats we can make for our cousins, and of course we had to “practice” today! We came up with popcorn “snowballs”, FROZEN hot chocolate and Icy cool peppermint ice cream!
Popcorn Snowballs
Ingredients
- 2 C White chocolate wafers
- 1/2 C popcorn kernels about 6 C's popped
- blue and silver sprinkles and sugar
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn, makes a nice large bowl
- melt the 2 C white wafers
- pour over the popcorn and stir until evenly coated
- spread out in a cookie sheet, sprinkles all the sugar and sprinkles all over and let it set
- break it up into largish chunks (our snowballs) and place it into small containers and enjoy
Nutrition
- 2 C cream
- 1 C milk
- 3/4 C sugar
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- blue and silver sprinkles and sugar
- Mix all the ingredients together until the sugar is dissolved.
- Pour into your ice cream maker and chill according to your machines directions.
- When there are 3 mins left pour in the sprinkles and sugar.
- Scrap out and pour into a freezable container, freeze for a few hours then serve!
And you can find my frozen hot chocolate recipe here! I usually make this during the summer, but it seemed too perfect for our celebration to pass it up!
So I can’t wait to make these with my nieces and nephews and kids and take them to see the movie. Are you other Disney lovers doing anything fun to get ready to see FROZEN???

Yesssss!!! A fellow Frozen lover! I can’t WAIT till netfix gets that movie! In the mean time I’m trying not to spoil the it by over watching the trailers :)!
The only other movies I was this exited about (and believe me I’m exited, I get exited over ANY movie but I don’t normally nearly break my chair :)) were: BRAVE, and EPIC. Oh yeah, also TANGLED. Those three are my top favorites and I’m hoping that three will become four with FROZEN!
Hope you have fun in Oregon!
