One of the most popular treats at my daughters Frozen party earlier this year were these Kristoff “Ice blocks”. I was planning on just using Blue Jell-O… BUT I can NEVER find it. Seriously, remember my Pool Party? trying to make blue Jell-O out of lime and adding blue, but that was an EPIC fail.

we love Frozen birthday party food, like these Kristoff ice cubes aka from scratch jigglers

So when I couldn’t find it this time I decided to make my own! It’s SO much easier than I thought it would be! I’m kicking myself that I didn’t think about it for the pool party “tide pool” treats. At least I figured it out this time. You start with any juice you want. I grabbed the lightest blue fruit juice I could find.

these from scratch jigglers make great Kristoff ice cubes for Frozen birthday party foods

I have to admit this is one of those foods that you can’t really appreciate in just pictures. Something about the “jiggle” is so fun and satisfying! Like Bob from Monsters vs Aliens! It’s a light flavor, but it was one of the first things that was gone at the party itself! The kid’s all loved it.

I wish you could see how well they jiggle, it's so satisfying in a way

And now I can make Jello in ANY color and flavor for any other party or event!  YAY! I might even try those “tide pools” again, HA! What flavor or color can you never find that you would make yourself?

    Hi

I would really like to make these ice cubes. But I am unsure what you mean when you say four packets of gelatin. I live in South Africa and we have small packets of flavoured jelly (80 gram packets) and unflavoured gelatin in 125 gram packets. I usually use about two spoons (or less) of the unflavoured gelatin in if i make something.

    Please advise.

unflavored gelatin, One envelope of powdered gelatin (about 1/4 ounce) is about 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 teaspoons.

I just made this with parfaits for a mermaid party and used blue Hawaiian Punch. Perfect for aqua sea water!

I tried to make this….but my jello stuck in the glass pan even though I sprayed it with cooking spray. I’m not sure what I did wrong.

I’ve never had my jello stick so I’m not quite sure – what brand of cooking spray did you use? I like bakers Joy.

Can you make this and let it sit in the fridge for the next day? I’m just not sure about putting gelatin and the cooking spray together

the non stick spray is just so it doesn’t stick to the pan, I’ve always used it with jello jigglers. And yes you can let it sit overnight.

Have you ever tried this recipe any spirits for jello jiggler shots (for 21+ get togethers)? Trying to figure out the correct ratio.

If you were using blue jello, how would you make it turn turquoise? I have the blue jello but need it to be turquoise for a party.

    Thanks
