The best sour cream lemon pie you’ll ever taste. A tart lemon flavor in a creamy pie that everyone loves.
I have two go-to deserts! My Flourless chocolate cake and this Sour Cream Lemon Pie. I love love LOVE this pie. It’s the perfect amount of sour lemon and creamy goodness!
AND I have a video for you! Not just this recipe but all four of my go to pies! This recipe along with my cream cheese pumpkin pie, Coconut Cream Pie AND my Pecan Tart (available in the Thanksgiving ecookbook). Enjoy!
I could eat an entire pie myself in one sitting. And I have! I guard this pie fiercely and I’m known to not share very well. My kids love it so I hide it. Silly huh?
I really should let them have it so I can make myself a fresh one when it’s gone! It’s not even than time consuming to make. The only frustration is that it has to set before you can enjoy it! It is SO worth it!
I also happen to have the PERFECT pie crust! I make a double or triple batch and plastic wrap and freeze the extra so I have them when I need it!
Often I’ll decide at midnight that I need a lemon pie and it’s nice to have this on hand. In fact I keep lemons on hand all the time JUST for a midnight pie creation!
I adore pie recipes, and I share all my favorite pie recipes along with all my Thanksgiving recipes in my digital cookbook.
To watch me make this Sour cream lemon pie and 3 other pie recipes play the video in the recipe card. There should also be a short teaser auto playing for you.

Ashlee you made my day!!!! This is my favorite pie eveeerrrrrr! I can’t wait to give it a try! 🙂 Thanks so much for the recipe.
Ashlee
Thanks! I was never much of a pie person, and this one totally changed me around! I still don’t make a ton of pies, but I’m willing to try them because of how amazing this one is!
Becky at VintageMixer
I love all things creamy and lemony. This looks amazing!
Ashlee
Well it is tons of both! And SOOO worth it. Just delish!
Ami Allison

Ashlee

I had to add a funny story. my sister with http://www.nestledinrosenberg.com make this YUMMY white chocolate almond bark snack mix. Her husband hides it in lil containers all of the house. Everyone gets so angry when he pops up with a new container of it! He DOES NOT share! :p
Ashlee
I’m the same way! I hide my candy/goodies from my kids and husband. They just don’t appreciate the good stuff so they should eat the rest and let me enjoy the good stuff. But then I have to remind myself that I can always make more, and if I share I’ll always get to make myself the fresh stuff!
Kara
I’ve been thinking about this pie since you mentioned it at GNO. I’ve gotta go get me some more lemons. It looks amazing!!
Ashlee
I know! I just went to grab some more lemons myself and I’m OUT! For shame, I usually have around 6 at all times!
pk @ Room Remix
I haven’t had lemon pie in ages and this one sounds wonderful! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Ashlee
This one is AMAZING! I’d suggest having the stuff on hand for 2, Then you won’t feel bad sharing! It’s SO good!

Oooh yummo, bookmarking this one — lemony pies like lemon meringue are my absolute favorite (but like I’d make meringue, HA!) so I’m really excited to try this. I need to stop clicking on the recipe links cause I swear I’m gaining weight. 🙂 Have a good day!
Ashlee
I love lemon goodness too!!! But I’m not REALLY into meringue! So using Whipped cream instead is my drug of choice! I hope you like it! I love collecting recipes from online, but I’m WAY behind on trying them all! Mostly because they all sound so good I can’t pick which one to try next!
Joni
This pie looks fab! I am a huge lover of lemons and the combo of lemons and sour cream sound amazing together. Joni

I am SUCH a lemon flavored freak. This is getting bookmarked FOR SURE. (found it through Someday Crafts…)
Ashlee
Thanks! The summer I got the recipe from my mom I made it at LEAST once a week. Of course I was nursing a newborn so I was a veracious eater! It is SO good!
cheryl@scrapaddicat4sure
This looks good I am wondering if you can
use a light sour cream instead? Will it affect the taste?
Ashlee
I’m not sure. It will probably affect the taste, but how much? Who knows. It will probably still be wonderful. The real question is would it affect how it sets?
Pat
This looks & sounds delish! Will definitely make it. I used to hide things from my kids when they were young ~ so funny! 🙂 Now, I think my son & d-i-l try to do this too. My daughter loves anything lemon so this will be a must.
I’m your newest follower too. Stop by and say hi when you can. Off to look for more recipes here…

mmm…. I’ve been hunting for this recipe for forever – thanks so much for sharing it on the SYS Blog Party! I love lemon pie, and don’t care much for the typical lemon meringue variety.
Ashlee

Jocelyn (Grandbaby Cakes)

Love Love Loved your Sour Cream Lemon Pie! My mom made this pie for years. No one could find the recipe. I saw yours and thought it sounded similar to my Momma’s! It was perfect! I made 2 pies, one for our family dinner party and one for my husband and I to savor together at home! Thank you Ashlee, you made our Thanksgiving a hit! Everyone Loved it!!!
Ashlee
I’m SOOOO glad! I love finding recipes that are just like what I grew up with but lost! I have a few childhood favorites I’m still looking for!
Deena
This looks really good! I can’t wait to try it! But how do you make a pie crust? I’ve never made a pie before.
Ashlee
I have a recipe for pie crusts here
Jaroslaw
I will make this – on my way to the store for lemons! I don’t the the prep time and the total time are both 5 hours though!
Ashlee
GAH those stupid prep time/cooking time things. There is no place for me to put a total time, so There is only prep and cook and the app add’s it together for total time, stupid… so I even put the cooling down, or wait time in the “prep” section so that the total time is right. I either put just the time I’m working on a recipe, then get emails over how much longer it took, or I put the full time and people aren’t willing to try cause they think it takes too long, but if I leave it blank it still shows up on the plug in, GAH, sorry, ramble over… BEST PIE EVER, enjoy!
patricia
Hi! I’d really like to try this, it looks wonderful! I’d just like to ask: do you turn off the heat before adding the butter or after adding the butter and then letting it cool to room temp.?
Ashlee
I turn off the heat if the butter is cold, if the butter is frozen I add it while the heat is still on, all you really need is for it to melt smoothly.
