These thread crochet converse booties are easy to make and seriously so cute! A fun to make pattern for your sweet babies to wear.
These crochet shoes walk the line between “Oh my holy cuteness” and “why in the world would anyone make those”. I’m leaning towards the cute side myself…
But if you don’t agree, I get it. Crochet “clothing” is always a bit iffy. But personally I totally adore them and am even thinking of getting a new thread color to make him another pair!!
My problem??? I give birth to Hobbits. Their feet don’t even fit onto their birth certificate!!!
So the first time I tried to make these based on other peoples many patterns they were all too small, MAYBE 2/3rd up his foot. So I started over creating my own pattern as I went.
If you like yarn more than thread crochet I saw this converse high top pattern on Ravelry! Since I didn’t try this one I can’t tell you if it would fit my little boy or not, but looking at the pictures I’d have to make a lot of the same changes there as well.

I’m so glad!!! It took me about half a dozen tries to get it right for my little guy! I hope the sizing is okay as my Baby has GINORMOUS feet (he grew out of them so fast I’m debating a larger size or not!)

These little sneakers are so “‘”adorable! I don’t know the first thing on how to knit or crochet unfortunately plus I have arthritis in my hands or I would attempt to crochet a pair or two for my first born grandson. Do u make and sell them to at craft fairs or here online? If so, I would be very interested in purchasing a pair or two. Thank you!
Ashlee
I don’t sell them, but try etsy! I know a lot of people using my patterns to sell on etsy. OR if you know anyone who crochets you can always invite them to create some for you!
Bushra
Hi many many thanx really Pretty creation …….just a little question where should I start the toe top and tongue section or should I make it separate then join in toe of shoe?………

i had the patteren about 32 years ago it was from baby size to adult size and now i need the patteren and can’t fine it to make my hubby some again his size is 10 to 13 but sence his feet swell now he thinks that they will fit better toowith the swelling
Ashlee
interesting~ In thread??? That would take a long time to make. Yarn would probably go faster!
Katie
With thicker yarn and a bigger needle, this pattern will fit an adult foot. I made a pair with this exact pattern for my boyfriend and he loves them.
Ashlee
good to know.
Paula
These are so great my kids plaay basketball. I enlarged the pattern to make them to fit my kids in their school colors, Can’t wait to give them for Christmas.
Ashlee
how fun!
Amy
Can I just say how much I’m going to try this?! Good job.
Ashlee
thank you so much! I love love LOVED these, wish he fit them longer.
Lucy Bell
canthis pattern be done in yarn instead of the rochet cotton?
Ashlee
yes but not with this hook and if you use the right size hook for yarn these will be HUGE. If you want an infant pattern in yarn check ravelry, there are a few free yarn converse patterns out there.
Lisa Hall
These are so darn ADORABLE Ashley!
Wish I could crochet!
Ashlee
thank you so much! And I taught myself, it’s really not too hard once you get a hang of it!
Carrie
Would you by chance know what the “measurements” of your son’s foot was when you made this pattern, or at least how long the shoes were? I’m wanting to make a pair for my nephew who is also “long and skinny” but I’m not sure how long your long was…does that make sense? lol Thanks!!
Ashlee
wow, that was over a year ago, I don’t bother buying baby shoes until they start to walk, so I have no idea what the size was or what to compare it to, I’m so sorry. make the soles and see what you think before going on??? sorry i can’t be more help.
