Time to share last year’s family Halloween costumes!!! Look how LITTLE Baby boy looks! EVERYONE for that matter, I think they’ve all grown a few inches since last year. It’s amazing how fast it all changes.
I usually sew my families costumes (like these lorax family costumes and the 50’s costumes) but last year was so slammed I didn’t have time to hand make everything so I put these together by buying a bunch of separate pieces.
Daphne – I got really lucky with this one. I found the purple dress at a local consignment store, it was the best find when it came to these cotumes, otherwise I would have had to make the dress – I tried amazon and didn’t find a modest enough one for a 13 year old, this was the pattern I was planning on using to make the dress. Then I picked up these pink leggings, and grabbed a green scarf! Topped it off with a purple headband and some red hair dye!
Shaggy – This one was super easy, a long sleeve cream shirt, a green t-shirt and burgundy boot cut jeans. Finally a Justin Bieber wig and I used a brown pencil to draw a beard and shaggy was complete!
Fred – Blue jeans, blue collard polo shirt and a cream sweater. The orange cravat was a challenge… In fact I never did fine one that worked for a kid… So I improvised and used an orange baby bib instead! Finally I used yellow hair spray to turn Lego Boy into a blond.
Velma – This one was the most difficult costume. I couldn’t find an orange sweater or socks so I bought white knee high socks and a white sweater and dyed them orange. And I could only find a tan skirt and I dyed that red. Add some fake glasses and some glittery red shoes and done!!!
Scooby Doo – I did NOT want to buy one of these huge scooby doo costumes, because Baby Boy would have hated it, so when I found this scooby doo hoodie with ears (no longer available at amazon) I was SO excited. Brown sweat pants and a make up crayon for a black nose and lips and he was ready to go!
Because I put everything together through shopping and minimum DIY (instead of my normal sewing all night) I was actually well rested for Halloween and it was a BALL! I even got these all put together EARLY last year and the kids had a ball wearing them to both our Church party, school and around the neighborhood. We added an alien mask for Dad and the easiest family costumes ever were complete!
