SpongeBob & Krusty Burger Birthday Cake

I got to make a cake for my 2nd Cousin’s sweet little 2 year old boy this weekend. She has a gorgeously decorated house and had a really fun time with this party and theme. She actually asked me about a month ago about a cake and I was so excited. With no kids birthday’s in the fall I’m in a dry spell right now, and without my website up I haven’t done any marketing here in SLC. So I was SO excited to get an order and add to my cake collection.

I’ve never seen the show myself (We don’t have TV, remember? Just HULU!). This was a fun one to make, it’s alway fun when I know the person who will be receiving it. Anyway my Cousins older son loves cake boss so I went over before the party to put the cake together and he got to watch me make the cake board. It was fun to have such a rapt audience! And the cake came together well. There was only two parts that made me sad. The lettuce had dried a little to well and kept breaking! And his shoes were heavier than I expected and instead of sitting straight up fell over to the side. Nothing anyone else would notice, but I’m always the perfectionist! And now I know what to work on next time!

Holy cow, your cake talents amaze me! This is the cutest Sponge Bob cake I’ve seen online, tho there are many “attempts.” You are truly talented, and not just with your cakes. Kudos!

I’m so glad you like it! It was a really fun cake to make, of course they all are in the end! It’s always so exciting to gain another reader! It still surprises me that anyone comes by at all! This new blog world is so much fun, and such a wonderful way to connect with other women! I love it. Your felt food is AMAZING! I’ve just barely branched out into playing a bit with felt. I love the juice box container, so so SO cute! I totally want to make these… eventually! My “to make” list just keeps getting long and long and longer!

Honestly I’ve only seen spongebob once and it was so bad I forbade my kid from watching it EVER!!! But not everybody feels that way about him. Obviously my cousins little guy loves him!

Thanks! Ummmm It was awhile ago, the two buns and the meat are hand carved and covered with fondant then stacked together. The cheese lettuce and tomatoes are also fondant. Then Spongebob is another cake covered with fondant. His arms and legs and nose are cookie sticks covered with fondant and stuck into the cake. I dimpled the fondant with a flower tool.
