I was so excited for the chance to design a tablescape for our local Home Show this weekend! When I first got asked they said we could pick any holiday or season. You guys KNOW it’s all about the food for me so if I’m going to take the time to set a table in a FANTASTIC way it’s going to be for Thanksgiving. I mean seriously a holiday all about food? FAVORITE!
But I wanted something that didn’t SCREAM thanksgiving either (since I’ve done more traditional before), so it COULD be used for just a nice dinner if you wanted. So I stayed away from the uber traditional colors, and I used food in the arrangements! I don’t know about you but my meals always have cake… (shocking I know) so this soft chocolate cake became my centerpiece.
We used Kale, parsley, roses and other green filler in the arrangement, backed it up against some lovely white and “blue” pumpkins and added artichokes and brown pears around the arrangement. Then we drew the whole thing together with a pomegranate in the center. Adding some hand painted pinecones just added that last detail/height and it’s complete!
And to end it all a fun news segment I got to do in preparation for the home show! And yes she calls me by the wrong name the whole time but whatever, it’s still me on TV! YAY!
