This post brought to you by FrogTape brand painter’s tape. All opinions are 100% mine.
I was SO excited to get to try Shape Tape™!!! I already loved Frogtape®, there is no other way to get crisp lines (I love their PaintBlock® technology). Seriously, I was worried if I’d still get those crisp lines with the Shape Tape™ but it was AWESOME!
When I got my Shape Tape™ in the mail I couldn’t wait to get started! I came up with a ton of ideas, but lately I’ve been wanting to update and personalize my dishes and glasses! I LOVE family dinner, it’s a big part of our family time every day and I wanted it to feel more special! So I too my boring glasses and made them special!
Usually you’d keep your Shape Tape™ in one piece, but going around curved surfaces is hard enough, I decided it would be easier to get it TIGHT and crip by cutting my tape in half. It split easily right where the two pieces of baking meet.
Then I matched the now flat top of the tape to the flat top of the glass, pulling it taunt and matching the first and last point together. Then I touched the top rounded part of the scallop shape to the glass, press it towards the point from each side and created a crease right in the center of each point, to get nice sharp lines.
Then I placed the top of the tape I had cut off and put it back on the top of the glass so it was all covered, I placed it upside down and at this point use glass etching cream! I usually like the frosted glass paint better, BUT when you add a cold drink the condensation makes the paint peel off.
Then peel off the tape!!!! Look at those lines! SERIOUSLY no leaking or rough edges or anything. Because I pressed the crease into the point you can’t even tell that the flat tape was placed onto a curved side of a glass!! Seriously I am so in love!
DONE! The kids helped me and we actually got 6 glasses done (Baby Boy doesn’t need one) in just a few minutes! It was super fast and they look amazing. I think I want to do the full set of glasses for company and parties now.

thank you so much! I think they’d look great on the rest of my glass bowls and dishes too, trying to figure out how to get it around my glass cake plate now!

What a wonderful idea. Can you put your glasses in a dishwasher?
Ashlee
if you use the etching cream, yes you can. If you use the frosted spray paint, it will start to come off!
