My name is Cher and I am behind Designs by Studio C where I offer DIY projects, how-to information, and furniture plans. I have a degree in Drafting, and was bitten by the home improvement bug in 2007. I have since remodeled both bathrooms and the kitchen in my house, and have just completed a total house renovation with my boyfriend, Matt.
I have two teenagers, one in college and one in high school, who frequently help me with projects as well as create some of their own. I enjoy sewing, knitting, and crocheting in addition to building and refinishing furniture. I am also a huge fan of Habitat for Humanity (HFH) and I participate in our local HFH benefit event, “Restore & After”, where I take furniture or lighting fixtures from the HFH ReStore, fix them up, then they are auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting our local HFH chapter. I am also Green Advantage Certified in both commercial and residential construction, and am working toward my contractor’s license.
My main goal is to empower as many people as possible with skills to do even the smallest of DIY or home improvement projects. Anyone can do it and I am here to show you how!
