Instructions
Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda, salt, sugar and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl
mix the butter,eggs, milk and vanilla and pour over the top
Stir together
let sit 40 mins
cut parchment squares (for regular doughnuts) or rectangles (for the goggles)
the dough will be thick, you can pat it out and use a doughnut cutter to shape (placing on parchment squares)
For the goggles, I pressed into a piping bag, (not disposable, it will pop through, a good sturdy bag)
and piped out two circles close together onto a parchment rectangle, figure 8 style, but each one more rounded
Heat the oil to 360 degrees F
place the doughnuts (parchment square/rectangle up) into the hot oil, after a second use tongs to pull off the parchment paper
let cook for 1 1/2 mins to 2 mins on each side
Drain on a cooling rack over paper towels, after a few mins roll in silver sanding sugar
